Biographical / Historical
In 1954 the synodical committee on National Missions of the Evangelical and Reformed church was considering a mission church in the southern area of rural Hennepin County. Rev. Robert Volkert of Faith Church in Minneapolis was asked to take charge of the organizational work. On November 7, 1954 the first worship service of St. Mark's was held at the Oxboro Theater with Rev. Samuel Schmiecken officiating. In May 1955 Rev. Wesley Borneman accepted the call to St. Mark's as the full time minister. Church closed September 2025
